Workstations that remain whisper quiet and cool even under full system load. The arck core 2 + core 4 range is available in either a beautiful brushed aluminium or black anodised mid - tower chassis. We have spent a great deal of time designing and testing the cooling system and layout of our workstations for a minimum of acoustic noise and maximum cooling efficiency.

Both chassis have ample room for expansion, offering room for extra hard drive capacity [ up to 8 terabyte's ] and various RAID configurations. The aluminium mid - tower cassis offer's space for up to a total of 8 hard drives. All system's come standard with USB1.1 | 2.0, Firewire 400, Gigabit Ethernet, and Dual Display capable Video Cards.

The arck core 2 + core 4 Pro range include all the external connectivity that you would require, USB1.1 | 2.0, Firewire 400 | 800, E-SATA, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, and Video Card options for dual, triple or quad display viewing and even HDMI for those looking to set-up a full multimedia production suite.

All system's are VISTA ready, and can be shipped with either Microsoft Window's XP Pro or Vista Ultimate.

For the ultimate Vista experience, we do recommend a minimum of 2 Gigabytes of physical RAM [ memory ] and a Video Card [ GPU] with at least 256MB of physical RAM on the card.

These are close to the minimum specifications for most media production, so you will find that choosing Microsoft Vista on a custom PC workstation by arck will be the full experience that Microsoft intended. Feel free to enquire as to which operating system will suit your needs.

Every single arck workstation is put through a minimum of 7 days load and stress testing.

arck's workstations utilise the best components available. The selection of which is based on our own price / performance / features ratio alongside a wealth of experience.

While choosing the best component's is a great start, this alone does not guarantee us that a system will perform to specification or that these components are fault free or compatable, hence the need for thorough testing.

arck's quality control is second to none. There are two tiers to our quality control and testing methodology.

The first tier cover's the PC component's and the operating system. The testing includes but is not limited to : Power supply, BIOS [ version + setting's ], platform chipset, CPU, GPU, RAM [ read / write integrity + settings], hard disk + optical drives, all onboard controller's [ USB / Firewire / IDE / SATA ], cooling system, software driver's and operating system. This 1st tier of quality control ensure's that there are no flaws in the installed hardware, the system BIOS, operating system installation, and the basic interaction and throughput of everything.

The second tier of arck's quality control engages the fact that the maximum performance and stability of any computer system for a ' given application ' ie. Audio Production, can only be achieved with real world testing. The computer system's components, operating system, 3rd party application's and hardware, OS + application patches + updates have a combined effect on stability and performance. So it is here that a real world application is loaded to fully utilise and stress the system.

: : arck O N E T O U C H disaster recovery : :

You will also have the peace of mind and security of a ' one touch recovery ' system that is accessable locally on a secure partition on the system hard drive or via a bootable disaster recovery DVD. So if your system becomes corrupt due to a virus or user error you can boot back to a clean Windows XP or Vista system within minutes.

Even if your hard drive becomes mechanically damaged, it will be as simple as arck physically replacing the system hard drive and booting from your ' tweaked for audio production ' arck recovery DVD. You'll be back in business within the hour in this ' worst case scenario '. This repair would be done locally @ arck for our Melbourne based clients as a priority.

Our interstate clients can choose the option of an arck ' clone ' disk when they order their system, for a minimal charge. A cloned [ exact copy of your custom system ] will be provided on a second identical hard drive that can be swapped into the system in the event of a physical hard drive failure.

A great support + redundancy plan for anyone who has to rely on their system day and night all the year around. All drives are covered by a 5 Year Warranty, so in this case you will receive a newly cloned replacement system disk as a further future back up.

arck does not advocate the use of RAID for redundancy via onboard RAID controller's and standard consumer grade hard disk drives.

Acronis True Image Home 10 is included as a back up utility alongside a Dual Layer DVDRW for DATA back up procedures.

IMPORTANT NOTE : A hard drive, whether internal or external, or mirrored with other's for redundancy via dedicated RAID, IS NOT FAIL SAFE, and therefore cannot be treated as a TRUE BACK UP. It can only be relied upon as a temporary solution. Hard drives have mechanical parts assembled with the finest tolerances available to today's best engineering practices and are affected by heat, moisture and shock. If your data is valuable to you, then back up to the BEST QUALITY MEDIA you can find and store copies in two seperate location's, on-site and off-site.
